Brief Turn a piece of furniture in the living room, interactive.
Result A musical sofa where every seat plays a different track. The idea behind this interactive sofa is to create an experience that can unite family members. Nowadays, most of the activities that take place in the living room are passive. This sofa encourages the participants to coordinate together to create a musical piece, which in itself is uniting, much like playing together in a band.
Each seat represents a different "musical instrument" and the sofa's backrest adds a second layer to that specific "musical instrument".
Below you can see the stages we went through to create this prototype.
Group project done with fellow classmates Ela Simner and Odeya Benin.
The music used in the final product was specifically created for this project by Nimrod Elstein.
